Take it easy, breath in, out, relax... it's supposed to sound this way. Man! Sometimes this Vermont duo can come out with albums that are simply too out-there to possibly have been conceived by human beings (or at least sober human beings). Ragas Of The Culvert has crawled it's way from so far out of left field that it'll baffle even the most hardened fans of MV+EE. Don't get me wrong, it's an astounding record, but you better be sitting down before you put it on. Once those sounds hit your brain, it is unlikely that your motor skills will respond at all. Most of the tracks found on the album are psychedelic takes on the whole raga sound (duh!) with barely a trace of the usual folk influences in sight. Only For The Turnstiles, a Neil Young cover, sounds like a "standard" track. This is another one-off release on the duo's Heroine Celestial Agriculture label and it is extremely limited (perhaps even less than the usual 99 copies!).
