All girl band from Sacramento made this cool, psychedelic album in the late 1960s - it sounds like a mix of The Doors & Grace Slick-style vocals, with plenty of organ & guitar
Like Michigan's The Luv'd Ones, She toiled largely unnoticed by the mainstream press in the late 60s. Unlike the Luv'd Ones, She were pretty uniformly ferocious, and clearly listened to a lot of stuff like the Stones, as well as garage rock (and also had an organist). Whether it be the outrageously sexual 'Outta Reach' or the cynical, tough 'Piece of You' (or even the relatively gentle 'Braids of Hair' and the fairly sappy 'Boy Little Boy', the latter of which was a sadly misguided attempt to soften their image), this was a grrrl-band with a nasty attitude and (eventually) chops to match
Recorded between 1966 and 1970.
She includes: Nancy Ross, Sally Ross.
