      Maple Leaf - Maple Leaf (1972/2002 - ULTRA-VYBE/VICTOR)

      --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

      Artist: Maple Leaf
      Album: Maple Leaf
      Released: 1972/2002
      ULTRA-VYBE/VICTOR (CDSOL - 1048)
Genre: Japanese Pop / Folk Funk

Strange Japanese pop/folk funk album that is rare as hen's teeth to find information on. I actually got this from Dustygroove quite a few years ago but it has since gone out of production.
I liken them to a Japanese Free Design but not as good in all honesty. Although it's worth it for the opening track alone imo, a brief opening of dissonant electronics and haunting flute leading way to a super funky little pop track with ace production.
Whilst the rest of the LP is not as strong it's serves up a couple of sweet tracks along the way plus it has nice artwork.
Sorry I don't have more info but if you can find some then please feel free to add it to this thread.
Sadly the track titles are all in Japanese and I can't find translations, this is reflected in the .cue file also.
